The Agrimet division of the India Meteorological Department has advised cotton farmers in Gujarat to install five pheromone traps per acre, among other measures, to monitor and control the spread of pink bollworm. Pink bollworm larvae burrow into cotton bolls to feed on cotton seeds which hits yields.
