Indian traders sell 70,000-80,000 tn maize to Bangladesh Apr-May.

Indian traders have exported around 70,000-80,000 tn maize or corn to Bangladesh since April. About 30,000 tn were exported in April and so far in May 40,000-50,000 tn have been exported to Bangladesh. The average price at which maize was exported was $200 per tn on free-on-board basis. It is after two years that Bangladesh is importing maize from India. The commodity is largely supplied through rail or roadways. Maize is largely bought by the country as a feedstock for the poultry sector.
