Maharashtra plans 9 textile parks in cotton-growing regions .

Govt of Maharashtra is planning to set up nine textile parks in cotton-growing districts in the state to ensure remunerative prices for farmers and logistical ease to the industry. One textile park has been set up in Amravati district, and the state has acquired land for the second project in Malegaon. Districts such as Buldhana, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Parbhani are being considered as locations for the remaining parks. The idea is to create these parks in cotton abundant areas to help in easy transition from “fibre to fabric and fabric to fashion. These initiatives would help farmers secure a better price for their produce.
