The Maharashtra government will compensate cotton farmers for losses incurred from pink bollworm attacks, through seed companies, crop insurance and National Disaster Relief Fund. Over 500,000 farmers in the state have so far claimed compensation for Losses incurred by pink bollworm attacks as having said in a reply in the Winter Session of the state Assembly. The revenue department has also started registration of the affected cotton area and ensured assistance after the registration is complete.
