Maize prices fall in Bihar as rain hits crop quality on 29 May.

Prices of maize fell in the key wholesale market in Purnea, Bihar, as overnight rainfall has affected the quality of the crop. Despite lower arrivals, prices fell today as there were no buyers for the grain with high moisture content. About 6,000 tn of maize arrived in the Purnea market, down from nearly 15,000 tn on the previous day. Prices are seen plummeting further as a large share of the crop is yet to arrive in the market.
