Masur prices were down

Masur prices were down due to weak demand from domestic buyers. According to the central second advanced projections, India’s rabi harvest season is just a month away, and record production of pulses is projected – 18.34 mln ton against a target of 16.84 mln ton.
Masur production is expected to be the second-highest in the season’s pulses basket, at 1.58 million tonnes. In addition, the predicted lentil output volume is the second largest in the last 14 years. According to analysts, bumper production paired with lower import duties can damage farmers.
In the key producing states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Bihar, lentil is currently selling over its minimum support price of Rs. 5,500 per 100 kg.
