Prices of mustard seed rose in Jaipur due to robust demand from domestic oil millers and crushers after markets resumed trade. In Jaipur, the benchmark market, mustard seed was sold at 4,250-4,275 rupees per 100 kg, up 25-50 rupees. Rajasthan traders’ union went on a strike from Sep 1 to put pressure on the state government to accept their demands. Limited supplies in the market also supported the prices. Arrivals of mustard in Rajasthan were estimated at 70,000 bags (1 bag = 85 kg) today, unchanged.
