NAFED begins mustard procurement in Haryana, buys 2,567 tonne.

National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation has procured 2,567 tonne of mustard seed at MSP in Haryana. Prices are ruling below MSP in the state, said officials and received a proposal from the Haryana government to start procurement under the price support scheme and started from April 10. Procurement has also started in Rewari, Narnaul, Jhajjar, Sirsa, and Charkhi Dadri districts of Haryana, and over 1,000 farmers have benefited. Mustard production in the country was pegged at 7.9 million tonne in 2016-17 (Jul-Jun), higher than 6.8 million tonne a year ago.
