May contract of sugar rose on the NCDEX because of buying after prices fell in the previous session. The contract fell tracking weakness in the spot markets. Expectation of a pick up in demand with the rise in temperature is also adding to the bullishness for the commodity. Demand for sugar from bulk buyers like ice-cream and cold drink manufacturers increases in summers. The most-active May contract of sugar traded on the NCDEX, up 1.4% from the previous close.
