Research bureau Strategie Grains has cut its forecast for barley harvest in the European Union this year to frost in key growing areas. The agency scaled down its forecast for barley production in the EU by 1.7million tonne to a multi-year low of 59.6 million tonne. Lower harvest of barley in the EU is likely to underline the potential for a squeeze in global stocks.
