Russia offers corn to Indonesia.

The Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Ludmila Vorobieva recently had a meeting with Indonesia’s Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, discussing agriculture trade between the two countries. Of the discussion, Ms Vorobieva offered Russian corn to Indonesia. However, Mr Sulaiman told media: We can’t accept the offer because we are self-sufficient in corn. We have even exported corn. The Ministry of Agriculture reported that in 2017 Indonesia produced 28 million tonnes of corn with a planting area of 3 million ha. This year, the planting area will be increased to 4 million ha with corn production expected to escalate by 30%.
