Soybean prices rose due to strong meal demand from exporters.

Soybean prices in Indore rose due to robust meal demand from exporters, and on hopes of improved shipments to Iran.

In Indore, soybean was sold for 3,710-3,800 rupees per 100 kg, up 20-25 rupees, with arrivals in Madhya Pradesh, the largest grower, pegged lower at 80,000-90,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg).

Soybean futures on NCDEX also rose. The February contract was up 1% at 3,894 rupees per 100 kg.

Futures contracts of refined soyoil on NCDEX and crude palm oil on Multi Commodity Exchange of India also edged higher due to a pickup in purchases in the wholesale markets.
