Prices of tur remained below the MSP because of sufficient supplies in the local market amid poor demand from stockists. Arrivals in Akola were estimated at 2,500-3,000 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), and in Gulbarga were at 9,000 bags. Govt has announced a minimum support price of 5,050 rupees per 100 kg, inclusive of a one-time bonus of 425 rupees, for tur for 2016-17 (Jul-Jun).
