Arrivals of cotton in major spot markets across the country are at 2,600 bales (1 bale = 170 kg) on 25 august, lower from 3,000 bales on 24 aug. In Gujarat, the largest producer, arrivals were at 800 bales, while they are around 800 bales in Maharashtra, 300 bales in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and 700 bales in Karnataka. There were no arrivals in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh as the 2016-17 (Oct-Sep) season is coming to an end.
