All-India cotton arrivals down at 4,200 bales on 6 Sep.

Arrivals of cotton in major spot markets across the country are at 4,200 bales (1 bale = 170 kg) on 6 Sep, slightly lower than 4,300 bales on 5 Sep. The new cotton crop has started arriving in spot markets of Haryana and Punjab, among the major producers in north India. Arrivals on Wednesday were estimated at around 1,200 bales in Haryana and 700 bales in Punjab. In Gujarat, the largest producer, arrivals of the old crop were pegged at 700 bales. In Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, they were estimated at 600 bales and 1,000 bales, respectively. There are no arrivals in Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh on 6 Sep.
