Farmers in the country had sown bajra across 6.14 mln ha as of 26 July, up 22.5% from a year ago. At 6.14 mln ha, acreage is higher than the five-year average of 5.2 mln ha. In Rajasthan, the largest grower of the coarse grain, the crop was sown over 4.16 mln ha as of 26 July, up from 2.80 mln ha sown a year ago.
