Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister O P Dhankar said the government would procure every single grain of Bajra in the state. The minister claimed that about 19,656 MT of Bajra has so far been procured in the current procurement season whereas 6,300 MT had been procured last year, and more than 5,000 MT of Bajra had been acquired during 2014-15. The state government is committed to procuring every single grain of bajra while replying to a question raised by opposition leader. With that, he assured the house that the state government was committed to resolving the issue of crop residue and making farmers prosperous in a phased manner.
