Prices of groundnut seed are down in Junagadh due to a rise in arrivals and weak demand from domestic oil millers and crushers. Arrivals of the oilseed in Junagadh, are estimated at 2,100 bags (1bag=20kg), up by 700 bags from previous close. A likely rise in the output of groundnut in the rabi season in 2016-17, also weighed on prices. India groundnut seed production in the rabi season is seen at 1.6 million tonne, up from 1.2 million tonne in the previous year.
