Despite lower arrivals, prices of mustard seed hit a two-year low in Jaipur on likely higher output of the oilseed in 2016-17 (July-June). Arrivals across the country were estimated at 325,000 bags (1bag=85kg) compared with 380,000 bags. Supplies are lower because farmers are not ready to sell their produce at existing prices. Lacklustre demand from domestic oil millers and crushers further weighed on prices of mustard seed.
