Procurement of cotton in Maharashtra under the minimum support price is unlikely to start until mid-November, as recent heavy rains across the state have delayed arrivals, said an official at Cotton Corp of India. However, chairman of Maharashtra State Cooperative Cotton Growers Marketing Federation Ltd, said they ready to procure the crop at nearly 60 centres across key cotton growing districts in the state.
