NCDEX June barley hits over 1-year low on weak demand.

The most-active June contract of barley on the NCDEX touched an over one-year low due to lacklustre demand. The contract is down 1% from the previous close. Demand from the poultry sector has weakened, and this has weighed on the prices. Expectation of a larger crop also has weighed on the prices. The farm ministry pegged the country barley output for 2016-17 (Jul-Jun) at 1.85 million tonne, up from 1.44 million tonne of previous year.
