Pink bollworm attacks have affected some of the cotton crop in Telangana but the damage is not severe. Severe pink bollworm infestation in Maharashtra, the second-largest producer of cotton, had lead to worries in neighbouring Telangana as well. In Maharashtra, around 2.8 mln ha or about 67% of total cotton acreage may have so far been affected by pink bollworm attacks.
