Uttar Pradesh farmers advised to transplant rice.

IMD has advised farmers in eastern Uttar Pradesh to continue transplanting of rice and sowing long-duration crops such as maize and tur after the recent spell of rains. Increased moisture levels in the soil due to the recent rains will help the sowing process. Agrimet has also asked farmers in the state western region to continue sowing maize, jowar, groundnut, urad and moong. During Jun 1- Jul 12, eastern Uttar Pradesh received 32% above-normal rainfall, while western Uttar Pradesh received 15% above-normal showers.
