All-India cotton arrivals up at 2,500 bales as on 31 august.

Arrivals of cotton in major spot markets across the country are at 2,500 bales (1 bale = 170 kg) on as on 31 aug, marginally higher than 2,400 bales on 30 august. Arrivals of the new cotton crop have started hitting the spot markets of Haryana, the largest producer in north India. Arrivals estimated at around 100 bales. In Gujarat, the largest producer, arrivals of the old crop were at 700 bales. In Maharashtra, there is around 800 bales, while in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, arrivals were at 300 bales. Arrivals in Karnataka were at 600 bales. There are no arrivals in Punjab, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
