Cambodia will sign an agreement with Bangladesh to export 1 mln tn of rice for over a period of five years. The deal will focus not just on fragrant or white rice, but all types of rice. India, which is a major exporter of rice to Bangladesh, recently sold 100,000 tn of non-basmati rice to the country through government tenders. Bangladesh government has also signed a deal with Vietnam for import of 250,000 tn rice. Bangladesh may import nearly 1.2 mln tn rice in 2017-18 marketing year (May-April) as the country’s production has fallen due to floods and adverse growing conditions
