Canada exported 0.38 million tonne of peas in March, up 108% on year. The exports are up 98% on month. So far in the marketing year ending July, exports for peas were at 2.61 million tonne compared with 1.94 million tonne in the year-ago period. The country also exported 72,500 tonne of lentils or masur in March as compared to 16,900 tonne in the preceding month. Lentil exports for the marketing year so far are at 0.675 million tonne up from the 0.59 million tonne exported during the same period last season. Canada is a major supplier of pulses in the global market and India is its biggest customer, importing 0.6-0.8 million tonne of lentils a year.
