Canada exported 32,900 tonnes of peas and 21,700 tonnes of lentils during the week ended. Exports of both pulse crops continue to run well ahead of the previous year-to-date level. Roughly 3.2 million tonnes of peas have moved out of the country to-date, which is up by a million tonnes from the same point the previous year. Total lentil exports or 0.793 MMT are about 180,000 MT ahead of the 2015/16 pace. Red lentil bids range from about 23 to 26.5 cents per pound, with new crop prices also topping out at 25 cents. Green pea bids range from C$8.00 to C$8.75 per bushel in Western Canada, while yellow peas range from C$7.95 to C$9.75 per bushel.
