CBOT corn prices decreased last week pressured by higher world production and ending stocks.

Over the period under review (December 07-14), CBOT corn prices decreased 0.7%. A bearish trend in the market was triggered by publication of the December USDA WASDE report, as well as by weekly data on the US corn exports. The experts raised the world corn production estimate by 0.85 MMT to 1044.75 MMT, due to an increased crop estimate for the EU and China. The world’s corn ending stocks forecast was raised by 0.22 MMT to 204 MMT.
