Futures contracts of wheat rose on CBOT after the International Grains Council lowered its estimate for global wheat production in 2018-19. The grains council in its monthly report on Thursday estimated global wheat output in 2018-19 at 739.0 mln tn, down from its March forecast of 740.8 mln tn, mainly due to reduction in estimates for India, US, and Australia.
