Centre has decided to give relaxation in the fair average quality (FAQ) norms for the purpose of procurement of paddy in the state of Odisha under the minimum support price (MSP) mechanism. FAQ norm is set by the Central government to determine grades of paddy before procurement. Ram Vilas Paswan, Union minister for consumer affairs and food and public distribution, informed this on Wednesday through a letter to Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who had requested Paswan for this relaxation.
