Centre-South Brazil 2017-18 sugar output seen falling to 35.2 million tonne.

Mills in Brazil Centre-South region are estimated to produce 35.20 million tonne of sugar during 2017-18, down 1.2% on year. Sugar output in the region, which accounts for more than 90% of Brazil total sugar production, was 35.63 million tonne during 2016-17, up 14.1% on year. Of the total cane that would be crushed in 2017-18, around 47% is expected to be used for sugar production, and 53% to make ethanol.
