Chana down in Delhi on lower demand from stockists

Prices of chana fell in Delhi, the benchmark market for the commodity, because of lower demand from stockists. Arrivals of chana in Delhi is at 525 tonne, while in Bikaner, at 8,000-10,000 bags (1bag=100kg) down 1,000-1,500 bags from the previous day. Expectations of higher output in 2016-17 (July-June) are seen creating bearish sentiment. The output of chana in Rajasthan, a key producing state, is expected to be 1.4 million tonne, up 64.5% from last year.
