Futures contracts of chana were up on NCDEX due to as traders covered their short positions after prices hit a four-week low of 3,988 rupees per 100 kg in early trade. The most active November contract of chana was at 4,032 rupees per 100 kg, up 0.5% from previous close. A 550-tn decline in open interest to 46,920 tn indicated short covering.
However, prices were down in Delhi due to subdued demand from millers and stockists. In Delhi, the benchmark market, chana was sold at 4,250 rupees per 100 kg, down 50 rupees.
