The State Government has procured more than 1.45 metric tonnes (MT) of paddy on support price so far from the farmers in the State, officials informed. Paddy is being procured from 1992 procurement centres across the State. Notably, Chhattisgarh has achieved 100 per cent digitization of the Public Distribution System (PDS) beneficiaries database. There are 23 other states in the country which have also achieved 100 per cent digitization of the PDS database. Moreover, the Chhattisgarh government is now also preparing a plan to use Aadhaar cards to identify Public Distribution System (PDS) beneficiaries.
