Coriander prices rise in Kota as acreage seen down.

Prices of coriander up in the benchmark market of Kota, Rajasthan, because the area under the spice in the state is seen declining this rabi season. Farmers are reluctant to sow dhaniya (coriander) as prices had slipped to around five-year low and the temperature right now is very hot for sowing. Growers are also shifting from coriander to more remunerative crops such as mustard, fenugreek and chana. Arrivals in Kota and Baran unchanged at 4,000 bags (1 bag =40 kg).
