A tropical cyclone has brought heavy rains back to the eastern Rice areas of India and the growing belt of Bangladesh since late last week. Heavy rains were also recently reported in more minor growing areas in southern India. Rain favors later planted summer rice in the region and reproductive rice in Bangladesh.
