EU wheat prices rise on Chicago gains, poor Canadian crop.

European wheat futures extended a rebound to a second day in the wake of a rise on U.S. markets and supported by low estimates for the Canadian crop. December milling wheat on Paris-based Euronext, closed 1.25 percent higher at 161.75 euros a tonne. It had fallen to a contract low of 156.50 euros at one point on 30 aug. Canadian farmers expect declines in wheat, barley and canola output in 2017 in part because of very dry conditions in the southern parts of the prairies. The rise in EU wheat prices is capped by the low prices paid by Tunisia in its latest tender. It bought two 25,000 tonne consignments, at $193.12 a tonne, cost and freight included.
