The average price of 25% broken non-basmati rice exported from India fell 0.8% on month to $381 per tn in May. During the same month last year, the grain was sold at $360 per tn. During Jan-May, average rice export price for India was at $385 per tn, 10.7% higher from the same period last year. Prices of Indian rice were lower compared to competitors Thailand and Vietnam in May. Rice export price for Thailand was at $451 per tn in May, unchanged from April. Prices from Vietnam rose 4.2% on month to $450 a tn in May.
