The government may increase India’s wheat output projection for 2017-18 (Jul-Jun) to over 98 mln tn in the next advance estimate. The yields of the current crop are expected to be high and the total output may touch last year’s level or even cross it. In its 2nd advance estimate, the government pegged India’s wheat output in 2017-18 at 97.1 mln tn, down from a record 98.5 mln tn produced a year ago.
