India’s wheat output in 2017-18 (Jul-Jun) is seen around 98.0 mln tn. India’s wheat output in the previous year was 98.4 mln tn, as per the government’s fourth advance estimate. Earlier, Patnaik had pegged the country’s wheat output at 100 mln tn. Situation is conducive for good output of wheat in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Some marginal fall in wheat acreage is reported, but we hope we will match last year’s production level.
