Farmers bodies across the country will begin a nationwide movement on Mar 14 to highlight issues regarding minimum support price payments as assured by the govt. Jai Kisan Andolan of Swaraj Abhiyan and several other organisations, which are part of the MSP Satyagraha, would invite government officials to discover the truth about MSP. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in his Budget speech promised that if prices at agriculture produce markets fall below the minimum support price, the government shall purchase either at the support price or provide minimum support price to farmers through another mechanism.
