Farmers body says subsidy required to dispose of paddy crop waste.

Farmers in Punjab would need a subsidy of 100 rupees per 100 kg on the minimum support price of a crop to plough back the paddy crop stubble, the founder member of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee. All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee is an umbrella organisation of over 180 farmers’ organisation across the country. Farmers do not want to do it (burn crop stubble), on the sidelines of an event organised by the farmers group. The problem arises as there is a very short gap of only 10 days between the harvest of paddy and sowing of the wheat crop, and farmers have to get rid of the residue during the period.
