Frost events in Kazakhstan stopped growth of winter wheat.

In the south and south-east of Kazakhstan, where winter wheat is cultivated, air temperatures decreased between November 11-20. Nighttime frost events down to -4-11°С occurred at the time they stopped growth of winter wheat in some parts of Almaty region. Precipitation replenished soil moisture content. Early-sown winter wheat in the south and south-east is at the stages of germination to tillering. Its condition is good and excellent. The average height of plants reaches 6-19 cm; their average density is 170 – 412 per sq. m. Farmers in South Kazakhstan region continue planting winter wheat.
