The International Coffee Organization has estimated global coffee production during 2017-18 (Oct-Sep) at 158.7 mln bags (1 bag = 60 kg), up 0.8% from 157.4 mln bags a year ago. The rise in global coffee production is likely to be aided by a 4.1% on-year rise in production in Africa, and a 4.3% higher output in Mexico and Central America. The rise in coffee production in Mexico and Central America is seen coming from higher production in Honduras and Nicaragua, along with recovery from the coffee leaf rust outbreak in some countries of Central America and Mexico
