USDA has signalled a fall in barley stocks globally to their lowest in 34 years. Stocks are expected to fall as farmers have shifted to other crops. Global barley production is expected to drop significantly with reduced crops for Australia, Canada, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine. Sowings in US itself are pegged at 2.5 million acres.
