The government has approved procurement of pulses and oilseeds at minimum support prices during the kharif marketing year that started October, in nine states, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, Farm Minister Radha Mohan Singh said today. Under the price support scheme, crops are procured at minimum support prices by nodal government agencies, and consideration for the procured crop is credited directly into the account of registered farmers.
