The PMGKAY plan has been extended by the government for another six months, till September 2022. (Phase VI). The PM-GKAY scheme’s Phase-V was set to finish in March 2022. The PM-GKAY, the world’s largest food security programme, has been in operation since April 2020. The government has spent around Rs. 2.60 Lakh Crore thus far, with an additional Rs. 80,000 Crore planned to be invested over the following six months through September 2022, bringing the total spending under PM-GKAY to nearly Rs. 3.40 Lakh Crore.
