Haryana govt in process to start paddy procurement from Oct 1.

Haryana government is making elaborate arrangements for buying paddy at the minimum support price (MSP) in the upcoming Kharif procurement season commencing October 1. As many as 192 purchase centres are being set up all over the state to procure 50 lakh tonnes of paddy expected to arrive in the mandis during the kharif procurement season 2017-18. Sufficient quantity of gunny bags has already been arranged. The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department and state agencies will procure common paddy at MSP of Rs 1,550 per quintal and Grade A at Rs 1,590 per quintal, fixed by the central government. The state government has also decided to procure Bajra at MSP of Rs 1,425 per quintal by setting up 28 purchase centres from October 1 to November 15, 2017.
