India is likely to export 4.1 mln tn basmati in 2017-18 (Apr-Mar), up 4% from a year ago. Resumption in basmati imports by Iran is expected around the procurement season starting October. Any delays in the same could dampen paddy procurement in the upcoming season as well as subdue the outlook on exports.
