Prices of basmati rice rise in key wholesale markets of the country due to firm demand and low supply. In key wholesale market of Karnal in Haryana, the 1121 white sella variety basmati rice was quoted at 6,500 rupees per 100 kg today, up by 100-150 rupees from the previous day. Prices of basmati rice have risen as export demand is good, while new arrivals are still a month away.
